SIMON DRUMM

Kia ora my name is Simon and I’m the Lead Trainer and Owner of Crane Industry Training.
I’ve had personal experience as a crane operator at Porters and also marine crane experience during my 17 years at sea in the fishing industry.
My most memorable lift, as an operator, would have to be lifting up lifeboats, with 3 crew, out of the sea while battling the moving vessel and ragging force of the ocean.
I’ve been an adult educator for over 16 years and I always strive to keep course content relevant, up to date, interactive and engaging for everyone. When I’m not training you’ll find me with my family, fishing, riding a Harley Davidson or looking at trade me listings of hot rods.
The purpose of starting Crane Industry Training came when we noticed the disconnect between crane operators, the industry and the standard course content being delivered by other companies. We have worked, and continue to work, to build our course content to be relevant to crane operators while still meeting all unit standard requirements. We also try to incorporate each individual companies safety procedures to bring further relevance.

We have been married since 2001 and have 3 adult children.
Everyday is a new day! As the administrator, accounts personnel I am your go to person for bookings, email replies and general training inquiries. I oversee the administrative, accounts and moderation parts of our business.
